This is the post I’ve looked forward to writing more than any other, and the reason is…it’s the last BIG project on our renovation plan!

I think you could best describe our landscaping method the first few years we lived here as: “Just ignore it”. When we purchased the house, half the landscaping was dead or dying and the other half seemed to thrive off of neglect.

When we bought this house there were a handful of really (and I mean really) ugly houses on our block—think bad paint color combos, overgrown yards, cars parked in yards, etc. Sadly, our house fell into that category (minus the car in the yard).

I’m back again with another Renovation Recap! This time we’ll be taking a look at another space that got a giant visual makeover plus a ton of functional add ons as well: The guest bathroom.

Have you ever heard of a home having a secret room or a spot where a previous owner stashed something valuable and forgot about it? Well, we didn’t have either, but…

When we purchased this home, a good portion of it had cream colored click lock flooring. It was not very good quality and the super light color showed every. single. thing. that landed on it.

When we left off in my last post, we had just gotten countertops installed and I cried tears of joy. We had family arriving in a few days for Thanksgiving, so we quickly moved everything back in and cleaned up from renovation so that we could enjoy our time together.

By the time we got to this point, it was mid November and Josh and I both took a week off of work to get it all put back together before we hosted family for Thanksgiving.

They say that the kitchen is the heart of the home and if that’s true, ours was suffering a major cardiac arrest.

I’m a big fan of living in a space for a while to settle on your renovation plans before you jump into a big project. We like to spend time in the space to learn how we live in it and then we can formulate a plan.
